3. Please respect that no copying, recording, or distribution of live session content is allowed. Meetings will not be recorded by the facilitator. 

As a professional member you are invited to participate in a bi-weekly peer consultation group, hosted by Chicago Center for Relationship Counseling. Peer consultation groups provide a forum for practitioners to meet informally with peers and colleagues to discuss clinical issues in a supportive and confidential setting. Consultations should focus on specific clinical issues related to the client’s case, rather than discussing personal details or revealing sensitive information. Confidentiality is of utmost importance and all those participating in this group must commit to confidentiality as a prerequisite to participation.

Professional Code of Conduct states that when consulting with colleagues, Psychologists, Marriage and Family Therapists, Licensed Clinical Social Workers and other mental health professionals may not disclose confidential information that could lead to the identification of a client without the client’s prior consent, unless disclosure cannot be avoided. In addition, the code says that one may “disclose information only to the extent necessary to achieve the purposes of the consultation." Peer consultation is not a substitute for all forms of professional support a practitioner may need. Practitioners must recognize when an issue raised in the group may require further consultation with an outside expert.
